For That Blessed Hope is a family band ministry of the Albert and Nancy Brouillette family of Peyton, Colorado. We are
a Christian family, and the purpose of our family and our band is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ with our lives and our music. Our
primary goal in making music is not entertainment, but presenting the Gospel to the lost, and encouraging Christ's Church toward deeper
love, commitment, and surrender to God. For this reason, our music will always express a Christian viewpoint, and never encourage
or glorify behavior or attitudes which are contrary to a holy, Biblical, Christian lifestyle. And while expressing
that message musically, it is our fervent prayer that our listeners will be pleasantly blessed and strengthened in the faith.
(Sadly,
it appears to us that so-called Christian 'cross-over' artists who attempt to 'move beyond' their Christian music to win the approval
and acclaim of the world through worldly music are aptly named... for them the pursuit of the cross is over!)
We are
not affiliated with any denomination, but are evangelical Christians, and believe that the Body of Christ, His Church, encompasses
all who have been born again through the blood of Jesus Christ.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
In order to help others understand what
we believe, and decide whether they would like to have us play for their event, here is our Doctrinal Statement. Such statements
can be difficult to create, since folks expect them to be all-encompassing, and to accidentally leave something out could
appear to be a denial of an important belief when that was never the intent. We encourage anyone who reads this and
still has questions about the orthodoxy of what we believe to contact us through our Contact link above.
We believe that the
Bible is the inerrant Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, infallible, the absolute authority for our faith (II Timothy
3:15-17, II Peter 1:21). We particularly appreciate the beauty, solemnity, and accuracy of the KJV and NKJV versions.
However, we do not reject every other translation as corrupt. That said, it does appear to us that some popularized
paraphrases and translations may actually contain misleading, modernized interpretations which inhibit believers' spritiual development
and promote an irreverent attitude toward the things of God.
We believe there is one God, who has revealed Himself to us as existing
eternally in three persons, as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division
of nature, essence or being. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
We believe in the deity of Christ,
the unique Son of God (John 10:33), born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); that He lived a sinless
life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26) and performed miracles (John 2:11). We believe in His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians
15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9) and His resurrection (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4) and His ascension to the right hand of
the Father (Mark 16:19). We believe He will personally return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16).
There is only ONE WAY to God, and that is by Jesus Christ.
We believe that every human being needs regeneration
by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the sinfulness of human nature, and that the only ground for our justification
is faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace, through faith alone, are we saved (John 3:16-19; 5:24, Romans
3:23; 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5). Everyone has sinned, and is in need of God's salvation.
We believe that both
the saved and the lost will finally be resurrected; those who are saved, to the resurrection of life, and those who are not, to the
resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, who have
been born again through faith in Christ (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).
We believe that the Holy Spirit ministers in
the world today. It is by His indwelling that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians
3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).
Christians are designed to be examples of the love of God in this world. It is agape love
that will characterize those who have truly come to know God (I John 4:7-8,16-17).
We believe it is the mandate of every Christian
to preach the Gospel to the world, and to live lives worthy of the Gospel of Christ (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20, Philippians
2:27).
We believe that Christian marriage is instituted by God for His purposes and our edification (Ephesians 5:21-33).
We believe it is the responsibility of every Christian parent to disciple their own children and train them in the faith, and
to protect them diligently from every influence and amusement which could in any way tend to destroy their children's faith or lead
them to believe that they need not live a life pleasing to God (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:1-4).
